Welcome to Amhara Hibret

Who We Are Amhara Hibret (Union of Amhara Provinces) is a united civic alliance formed by four prominent organizations: Gojam Global Alliance, Gondar Hibret, Bete Amara Wolo International Association, and Dekike Menilik Ze-Shewa Amhara Association. Our union was born out of necessity — a response to the increasing persecution, displacement, and genocide faced by the Amhara people across Ethiopia.

The Amhara people have been central to Ethiopia’s history, language, culture, and governance. From the development of the Amharic language and classical Ethiopian literature to agricultural advancements and spiritual traditions, their contributions are foundational to the nation. Despite this, for the past 50 years, the Amhara have endured relentless atrocities under successive regimes.

Amhara Hibret is committed to reversing this tragic course by uniting efforts across our provinces and the diaspora to defend our people, advocate for justice, and restore dignity and peace.

Our Vision To ensure the stabilization, protection, and empowerment of the Amhara people by preserving their heritage, advancing social and economic development, and promoting peace and justice.

Our Mission To build a collaborative platform that unites Amhara-centered civic organizations to respond to existential threats, advocate for justice, and build a future rooted in equality, security, and self-determination.

Restore Amhara Lands: Reclaim annexed historical territories.

Advocate for Constitutional Reform: Replace the TPLF-imposed constitution with a just, democratic charter.
Correct False Narratives: Reclaim the true history of the Amhara people.
Preserve Cultural Heritage: Protect and promote language, arts, and customs.
